Summer is here, and with July marking Disability Pride Month, there is an incredible lineup of inclusive events to get excited about! Whether you are looking to immerse yourself in live music, challenge yourself on a scenic racecourse, or explore arts and science in a relaxed, welcoming environment, this month has something for everyone. From vibrant community festivals to quiet, sensory-friendly events, we’ve rounded up six fantastic, accessible events across the UK that celebrate community, connection, and visibility. 1) The Birmingham Disability Festival

4th July 11am - 6pm
The Birmingham Disability Festival is back for another year to coincide with Disability Pride month. It’s a day that will be packed with fun inclusive activities, performances, workshops, inclusive sports games and much more. For this year's event they have introduced an inclusive walk for anyone who wishes to take part in a powerful moment of visibility and community. It’s a must-attend event for anyone looking to connect, learn, and celebrate the incredible achievements of the region’s disability community. 2) One In The Park
Regents Park, London
5th July
Get ready for the One in the Park Summer 10K, hosted by OneRace Events in London's iconic Regent's Park. The race features a beautifully scenic, three-loop route along wide tarmac paths, passing right by the blooming floral gardens, the boating lake, and the London Zoo. True to its mission, the event warmly welcomes participants of all abilities, including wheelchair users and those running with buggies. Whether you are aiming for a personal best on a fast course or want to soak in the relaxed, supportive summer atmosphere, this is a fantastic event for everyone. 3) The British Library
Relaxed Early Opening
5th July 9am – 11am
Unlocking the magic of the library for children with autism and sensory needs. From early-opening quiet hours and hands-on workshops at the learning centre to exploring the fairy tale exhibition, the British Library gives children the opportunity to enjoy the library without the general public. Accessibility
The library offers a range of facilities for disabled visitors.
- Disabled parking bays - These are located on Ossulston Street, which has a ramp from the main entrance. You will need to contact the library to find out if they charge
- Manual wheelchairs – These are available to use free of charge but is subject to availability
- Guide dogs – Are welcome on site and dog bowls are available at the information desk
- Hearing loops – These are available in different locations around the library

4) The Science Museum
Night Owls
17th July 6.30pm - 9.30pm
The Science Museum hosts Night Owls, an event dedicated to those with sensory needs. It runs on selected dates across the year. For this event they will be celebrating all things to do with space. You will be taken on a journey through the solar system with hands on workshops and much more. The event is free to attend, but booking is required. Accessibility
- Lifts - The venue has lifts with the majority being wheelchair accessible and audio announcements and braille labelling on the buttons.
- Accessible toilets – They are available on all levels of the venue
- Mobility equipment – Manual wheelchairs and folding stools are available on the day and can be pre-booked.

5) We Crip Film Festival
Southbank
18th & 19th July – 6pm
To coincide with Disability Pride Month, we Crip Film Festival showcases a weekend of disability film making. Enjoy the community get together as they celebrate disability screen stories and talent, reflecting on the state of disability representation. Access is prioritised for disabled visitors and they also offer reserved seating and wheelchair spaces. 6) Accessible Festival
Bury Athletics Club, Manchester
19th July 12pm – 6pm
This inclusive music arts festival will be celebrating 10 years of community, music and connection. It brings together families, artists, performers, organisatons and local communities to create a space of belonging. They will have live music, creative workshops, accessible activities, community stalls and exhibitors and much more. This is an event designed to welcome everyone.
