April 2025

It's the start of the EID celebrations, and the Easter holidays are coming up too, which means it's time to enjoy the fun with the whole family. We share 6 cracking accessible events to keep everyone entertained, from the Easter Egg hunt to special Easter and EID events for children and adults to enjoy. It's a great opportunity to make the most of this month's activities and events.

What is EID and how it's celebrated?

To mark the end of Ramadan (the holy month of fasting), the festival of Eid al-Fitar is celebrated and usually lasts up to 3 days in many Muslim countries around the world. Leading up to EID the shops and bazaars are always busy with families shopping for new traditional outfits and accessories.

On the day of EID families attend EID prayers at their local mosque and then get together for a meal usually in their homes or they would go out to eat. If you have relatives, it’s even better as you get invited to each other’s houses for even more delicious food, entertainment fun and games. Children get given money (known as Eidi) by their parents, aunts and uncles so they can go buy themselves whatever they like.
