At Access My Events, we believe that inclusion should always be at the heart of every event. Finding activities that prioritise full accessibility—from step-free routes and wheelchair hire to quiet hours and British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation can transform a standard day out into a welcoming experience.
This month, we’ve put together a list of 6 fantastic accessible events happening across London and the South of England throughout September. Whether you are looking to immerse yourself in nature, discover the latest adaptive technology, experience sensory-friendly live performances, or enjoy crowd-free history tours, there is something for everyone to enjoy!
1) British Sign Language Tour
London Wetland Centre
5th September 2pm
If you love nature and the outdoors, the London Wetland Centre hosts a BSL tour with deaf presenter John Wilson. Visitors will get the chance to discover eye-catching ducks and geese and beautiful lakes, pool and gardens. To book your tickets, please follow the link British Sign Language (BSL) Tour.
Accessibility
Disabled parking – They have 8 spaces available and is free for visitors.
Mobility equipment – Manual wheelchairs are available and 3 mobility scooters are available free of charge, but you need to book in advance on 020 8409 4400, or email info.london@wwt.org.uk.
Disabled toilets – These can be located throughout the centre. They have 7 in total.

2) Naidex Roadshow
Farnborough International Conference Centre
9th September 9.30am – 4.30pm
Naidex is Europe’s largest event dedicated to the disability community. With it’s success over the years they have announced the launch of their roadshow South at Farnborough International. They will have a number of exhibitors showcasing their innovative products and services for the disability marketplace, including engaging talks, accessible activities and much more. Accessibility
The venue has lifts and offers a range of facilities for disabled visitors.
Blue badge parking – Available on site for all events
Quiet spaces and BSL interpreters with live captioning
Mobility equipment – They have two self-propelled wheelchairs on site that visitors can hire on a first come first served basis, free of charge.
Disabled toilets – These are available throughout the venue.

3) The National Gallery
Audio Art Utterly In The Picture
14th September 2pm – 3pm
If you love art and would like to experience it in a sensory way, join the National Gallery as they host a guided audio description of the masterpiece painting uncovering the intricate details, themes and the attention to detail. Accessibility
The venue is committed to making it's visitor experience as accessible as possible for disabled people. All their entrances have step-free access, including their cafe, restaurant and shop. They have the following facilities available.

Assistance Dogs - They are welcome to the gallery. A water bowl and toilet are available for your dog

4) Royal Albert Hall
Najeeda Sting Quartet Relaxed Performance
20th Sept
Hosted in the Royal Albert Hall the Nadejda String Quartet's relaxed performance offers an inclusive, welcoming concert experience designed for neurodivergent individuals and anyone who benefits from a sensory-adapted environment. Accessibility

5) Wine Dark Short Film Festival
Finsbury Park Picture House
20th September 12pm – 7.30m
If you enjoy films, the Wine Dark Short Film Festival is returning for it’s third year to celebrate deaf and disabled filmmakers. 17 films will be showcased by UK and international based creatives. Lift access to all floors
Booking – It’s best to book in advance of your visit online or by phone. They are happy to reserve wheelchair spaces or seats for disabled customers. If you have any questions you can contact the venue on their dedicated access line on 03330 527300 or text relay on 18001 03330 527.
Disabled toilets – These are available on each floor and can be accessed via lift.

6) Tower of London
Relaxed Mornings
27th Sept - 9am – 11am
Tower of London hosts relaxed mornings for neurodivergent and those with learning disabilities and their families. It’s a chance to enjoy the experience away from the crowds. Accessibility
Step-free access is available throughout, and accessible toilets. The closest station is London Bridge. They have step-free accessible toilets.
